As global supply chains shift and demand for innovation accelerates, the international flooring industry is turning its attention to Shanghai. From May 27–29, the 28th edition of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2026 will bring together thousands of industry professionals at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC – Hongqiao), reinforcing Asia’s increasingly influential role in shaping the future of the global carpet and flooring sector.

With more than 1,500 exhibitors, 210,000 square metres of exhibition space and participation expected from across the world, the event arrives at a decisive moment for the industry. Evolving trade dynamics and rapid technological development are reshaping the flooring landscape, and DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR aims to provide the platform where manufacturers, suppliers, buyers and designers can navigate those changes together.

“In today’s environment, where global supply chains are being reshaped and demand patterns are evolving rapidly, the need for a trusted international platform is stronger than ever,” said Edwin Tan, CEO of GLOBUS Events, co-organiser of the show. “DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR continues to serve as a meeting point where industry players can explore opportunities, build resilient partnerships, and better understand market direction.”

The show’s international reach continues to expand. In 2025, the exhibition welcomed 83,056 visitors from 124 countries, marking the highest number of participating nations in the event’s history, while overseas attendance climbed to 18,121 visitors. Organisers report that 2026 pre-registration figures indicate another strong year for international participation, further reinforcing China’s and Asia’s role as global hubs for flooring innovation, sourcing and manufacturing.

The carpet sector remains central to the exhibition, occupying two dedicated halls, while hard flooring, the show’s largest segment, will span four halls. FLOORTECH Asia will once again provide a dedicated showcase for advanced manufacturing technologies, machinery and production innovation across the entire flooring value chain, from materials and design to application and installation technologies.

A major focus for 2026 will be strengthening high-value international business connections through curated buyer initiatives and delegation programmes. Nearly 250 selected buyers are expected to participate in the event’s Buyer Club hosted buyer programme, including delegation groups organised alongside organisations such as the Australasian Timber Flooring Association, Federparquet and Malaysian Interior Industry Partners Association. Participants will take part in guided tours, targeted matchmaking sessions and dedicated business meetings designed to accelerate commercial partnerships and create stronger global supply chain connections.

Alongside its commercial offering, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR continues to strengthen its role as an educational and knowledge sharing platform for the wider built environment sector through the Build Asia ecosystem. One of the headline conference events will be Asia Flooring Talks, a half-day English language workshop featuring 15 international experts discussing regional market trends, manufacturing developments, consumer preferences and design innovation across Asia’s major flooring markets.

The opening day will also feature the “Sense-It! Design and Sensory Economy Summit” organised by cadex, bringing together Chinese and international architects and designers to examine how sensory economy principles are influencing modern interior and contract design. Meanwhile, Carpet Island by Red Note will explore emerging digital marketing and influencer strategies within the carpet sector, focusing on trend forecasting and viral content development for brands and designers.

Healthcare infrastructure will also feature prominently through the Hospital Construction & Industry Integration Forum, which aims to encourage cross-sector collaboration between healthcare, elderly care, construction and research stakeholders in support of China’s evolving Healthy China strategy. The full event programme can be viewed at DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR Events 2026

Part of the wider DOMOTEX worldwide portfolio, the Shanghai exhibition continues to serve as the Asia-Pacific region’s largest international carpet and flooring trade show, organised by DACF Exhibitions Ltd., a joint venture between GLOBUS Events and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd. The wider DOMOTEX portfolio also includes DOMOTEX in Germany and DOMOTEX Southeast Asia 2026 in Thailand, reflecting the brand’s growing international influence across the flooring and interior finishing industries.
