preXcon is finalizing its program: The new conference for innovation and technology transfer in precision engineering is based on six key topics and eleven clearly structured sessions. Attendees can tailor their visit to the specific sessions and their topics, aligning them with their interests and questions.

The Olma trade fairs in St. Gallen
preXcon, taking place from November 3rd to 5th at the Olma Halls, is a new event format from Olma Messen St. Gallen AG for innovation and technology transfer in precision engineering, focusing on the beginning of the high-tech industry's value chain. It combines a trade exhibition (marketplace) with interactive formats in the technical congress (content hub), thereby linking theoretical knowledge with practical applications. With the defined key topics and sessions, the content profile of the event is now taking clear shape.
Key topics provide orientation
The six key themes encompass technological fields that are currently shaping the high-tech industry. They were defined in close collaboration with partners from research and industry and address key developments in the sector. These themes are: "Optics, Photonics and Electronics," "Precision Manufacturing and Metrology," "Production Management," "Digital Transformation and Application of AI," "Innovation, Business and Growth," and "Industrial Additive Manufacturing." They form the thematic basis of preXcon and structure the entire program.
Sessions make topics tangible and experiential.
Within these key themes, eleven sessions form the core program of preXcon. They delve into specific questions from research and industry. Each session begins in the Content Hub – preXcon's technical conference – where a topic is contextualized and explored in greater depth. Following this, exhibitors showcase concrete applications from industrial practice in the Marketplace – preXcon's trade exhibition. Sessions such as "Photonics4Fabrication," "Precision Manufacturing and Measurement," and "New Space Economy" are among the highlights.

“Anyone who wants to drive innovation forward cannot ignore preXcon. The combination of trade exhibition and specialist congress is unique and allows trade visitors to delve deeper into relevant content and engage directly with industrial practice,” says Manuel Zoller, trade fair director of preXcon.
Customize your visit by topic
Attending preXcon follows a clear logic. Each day, visitors can attend one session in the morning and one in the afternoon, thus creating their own individual program. "preXcon starts where real innovation originates: at the interface of research and industrial application. It creates the central space where ideas become concrete solutions for the high-tech industry," says Prof. Dr. Knut Siercks, Head of the Engineering Department at OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences.
Sessions are developed in collaboration with partners from research and industry.
preXcon was developed by Olma Messen St.Gallen and is implemented in close collaboration with partners from research and industry. These include, among others, OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, the Centre Suisse d'Electronique et de Microtechnique SA (CSEM), the Rheintal Research and Innovation Centre (RhySearch) and the Switzerland Innovation Park East, which help shape the content hub and the content focus of the sessions.
The premiere of preXcon will take place from November 3rd to 5th, 2026 in the St.Galler Kantonalbank Hall.
