As China accelerates its push towards carbon neutrality by 2060 and strengthens ESG-focused regulation, sustainability is becoming a defining commercial priority across manufacturing and supply chains. Within the pet sector, this shift is already driving innovation in biodegradable materials, recyclable packaging, responsible sourcing, and energy-efficient production methods.

Against this backdrop, Pet Fair Asia Ltd. has introduced EcoPaws Asia as a strategic platform designed to recognise and accelerate sustainability leadership within the Asian pet industry. Developed with guidance from the Pet Sustainability Coalition, the initiative will align with PSC’s internationally recognised sustainability standards to ensure transparency and measurable impact.

The programme will integrate a range of sustainability-focused activities directly into the exhibition experience. Brands and manufacturers demonstrating strong environmental performance will receive enhanced visibility throughout the show, helping buyers and visitors identify companies actively contributing to more sustainable industry practices.

Among the key features of EcoPaws Asia will be specially highlighted “Must-Visit” booths, directing attendees towards companies showcasing standout sustainable innovation. A dedicated EcoPaws Asia Showcase Area will also present a curated selection of environmentally responsible products and forward-thinking solutions.

The initiative will additionally support targeted business matchmaking between buyers seeking sustainable products and the manufacturers behind them, while an awards ceremony will celebrate companies demonstrating excellence and best practice across multiple sustainability categories. Sustainability-focused forums and discussions will also take place onsite throughout the event.

«We recognize that sustainability is now a defining force in shaping the future of the pet industry», says Aida Cuko (picture second from right). «Across Asia, and particularly in China, we are witnessing remarkable progress in innovation, responsible manufacturing, and ESG alignment. EcoPaws Asia reflects our commitment to supporting and amplifying these efforts, while ensuring that sustainability is fully integrated into the industry’s growth story.» Aida Cuko also highlighted the importance of PSC’s involvement in helping establish internationally recognised sustainability benchmarks within the programme.

Jim Lamancusa (above left) added: «Across the global pet industry, sustainability is becoming a core part of how companies innovate, build resilience, and earn consumer trust. EcoPaws Asia creates an important platform for companies across Asia to showcase measurable progress and accelerate practical solutions together.»

EcoPaws Asia is intended not only as a recognition platform but also as a catalyst for long-term improvement across the sector, encouraging companies to adopt transparent, science-based approaches to environmental and social responsibility. The initiative further reinforces Pet Fair Asia’s wider commitment to supporting sustainable growth and innovation across the international pet industry.
