MICE Show Asia’s Expansion Signals a Growing Asia Pacific MICE Market: How Far Can It Go?

MICE Show Asia is expanding its exhibition space by 83.2% for its 2026 edition. That is a significant increase for one event, but it also raises a bigger question: what does the expansion tell us about the growth and direction of Asia Pacific’s wider MICE market?

MICE Show Asia will return to Singapore from 21 to 23 October at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, bringing destinations, venues, MICE suppliers, meeting planners, corporate travel professionals and buyers together as demand for business events continues to evolve across the region.

A Bigger Show Reflects a Bigger Opportunity

The 83.2% expansion comes as buyers and suppliers navigate a business events market that is becoming more demanding.

Destinations are competing for events that can generate meaningful economic value. Buyers are looking for experiences that justify their investment. Suppliers need better access to decision makers. Technology is becoming increasingly important, while sustainability and flexibility are moving from optional considerations towards core parts of the decision making process.

MICE Show Asia 2026 will respond to this environment with an expanded marketplace connecting international and regional suppliers with a growing community of MICE and corporate travel buyers.

Confirmed exhibitors include Ayana, Festive Events, Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, Liberty International Tourism Group, Sapporo Convention Bureau, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Uganda Convention Bureau and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises.

More than 200 MICE buyers have already been confirmed, including representatives from Amex GBT, Asian MICE Planner Co. Ltd, Be Event Group, ConferenceDirect, Culturebrand Luxury Travel & Events, HelmsBriscoe, International Conference Services, K.I.T. Group APAC Pte Ltd, LamontCo, Technical Communications Intelligent Japan Inc, TUI Travel Center, the World Association for Medical Law and the World Psychiatric Association.

The growing buyer community matters because the value of an exhibition is increasingly determined by who is in the room, not simply how much space is available.

“MICE Show Asia is evolving in line with the needs of today’s business events industry,” said Darren Seah, Executive Director of Messe Berlin Asia Pacific. He highlighted the growing emphasis on measurable outcomes, meaningful experiences and value, alongside the need for suppliers to connect with relevant decision makers and understand where the market is heading.

The expansion therefore reflects more than additional floor space. It points towards a market with enough demand to support a larger platform for doing business.

The MICE Industry Is Asking More From Every Event

The growth of MICE Show Asia comes at a time when the definition of a successful business event is changing.

Attendance alone is no longer enough. Buyers increasingly want to know what an event delivers for their organisation, while attendees expect experiences that are relevant, memorable and worth the time and money involved.

That is changing how destinations, venues and suppliers compete. MICE Show Asia’s 2026 conference programme will examine how the evolving MICE buyer is influencing destination selection, event experiences and business outcomes across Asia Pacific.

Value and personalisation will be among the themes under discussion, alongside the question of how destinations and suppliers can attract the next generation of business events.

Digital transformation and AI are creating new possibilities for planning and delivering events, from managing complex programmes to creating more personalised attendee experiences. The challenge for the industry is moving beyond simply adopting new technology and understanding where it can create genuine value.

Featured speakers include Pom Corpuz, VP Corporate Travel Consulting APAC at Chase Travel Corporate Solutions, Navodit Srivastava, Hospitality Cloud Leader Asia Pacific at Cvent, Scott Nodsle, Managing Director, International, Encore EMEA & APAC, Vivek Neb, EVP & Managing Director, Travel & Tourism at Escalent, JingWen Wong, Head of SEA at FCM Meetings & Events, Errol Lim, COO of Jublia AI, Florian Jacque, Co Founder & CEO of Midstay & MicePro, Michael Kruppe, CEO / General Manager of Shanghai New International Expo Centre and David Hughes, Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Uniglobe Travel International.

The programme is supported by the China Business Event Industry Committee, Global MICE Collaborative, Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Tourism Economics and Uncommon Conferences, bringing together perspectives on business events, exhibitions, incentive travel, sustainability, market intelligence and experiential event design.

MICE Show Asia Is Expanding Beyond the Exhibition Floor

The most interesting part of the 2026 expansion may be what happens away from the exhibition floor. MICE Show Asia is adding more opportunities for professionals to meet, learn and exchange ideas, recognising that the value of a business event does not end with a buyer meeting an exhibitor.

Making its debut this year, the Association Executive Networking Session will bring association executives together in an invitation only setting for peer to peer exchange and discussion around shared industry opportunities and challenges.

The Pinnacle Partners Experience will return for a second edition following its successful debut in 2025. Curated and led by Uncommon Conferences, the invitation only experience will bring together selected MICE and corporate buyers for a closed door session designed around a more immersive approach to professional events.

Rather than relying on a conventional conference format, participants will explore the challenges and opportunities facing today’s B2B event planners through an interactive experience.

David Sand, Group CEO of Uwin Iwin Incentives, praised the 2025 edition for bringing something different to the traditional large event format, highlighting the appeal of incorporating more unconventional experiences.

Curated by Global MICE Collaborative, the ticketed workshop is aimed at emerging MICE professionals and new entrants to the industry. Experienced practitioners representing the International Association of Exhibitions and Events, Meeting Professionals International and Society for Incentive Travel Excellence will cover the fundamentals of designing and delivering successful conferences, exhibitions and incentive events.

The combination of practical learning, real world applications, networking and industry resources reinforces a broader shift in what MICE Show Asia is trying to offer. It is becoming less about simply creating a place where the industry meets and more about creating an environment where the industry can develop.

A Bigger MICE Market, Connected to a Bigger Travel Ecosystem

The potential of the MICE market becomes clearer when it is viewed alongside the wider travel industry. MICE Show Asia 2026 will take place alongside ITB Asia and Travel Tech Asia, bringing MICE, travel and technology professionals together through the wider ITB Asia ecosystem.

The connection reflects how closely these industries now overlap. A modern business event can involve international travel, accommodation, destination management and event technology before an attendee even arrives, while digital platforms and AI are increasingly influencing planning, communication and personalisation.

For buyers, bringing these communities together creates opportunities to discover solutions beyond the traditional MICE supply chain. For suppliers, it opens access to professionals across the broader travel ecosystem.

“The value of MICE Show Asia lies not only in connecting international MICE suppliers with buyers, meeting planners and corporate travel professionals across Asia Pacific, but also in bringing the wider MICE, travel and technology communities together through the ITB Asia ecosystem,” said Darren Seah.

That convergence could become increasingly important as Asia Pacific’s MICE market continues to develop.

The region already offers a vast range of destinations and business event opportunities, while improving connectivity and expanding corporate economies continue to create demand for meetings and incentives. At the same time, buyers are becoming more demanding. They want stronger experiences and clearer returns, while technology and sustainability are changing how events are planned and delivered.

For exhibitors, MICE Show Asia’s expansion means access to a larger marketplace and a growing community of buyers. For buyers, it means more opportunities to discover suppliers and destinations while understanding the forces shaping the industry. For MICE professionals, the conference programme, networking sessions and workshops provide opportunities to develop skills and build relationships beyond individual business meetings.

The 83.2% increase in exhibition space is therefore more than a statistic about one trade show. It is an indication of demand in a market that is becoming broader, more sophisticated and increasingly connected to the wider travel and technology industries.

The question now is not simply how big Asia Pacific’s MICE market is, but how far it can go.
